Athletics Overview

Saint Genevieve Parish Schools strive for excellence in the classroom and on the fields and courts, and view athletic competition as an integral part of education. Through character development, we create an atmosphere that fosters fair play, good sportsmanship, Christian values and positive reinforcement. In addition, Saint Genevieve encourages all athletes, parents, and spectators to pursue victory with honor by living the six pillars of character. Our ultimate goal is to develop the whole person. A Solid Track Record

Over the years, our school has achieved great success in our athletic program. We hold 5 CIF titles and have won 36 league championships since the year 2000. Also, each year, we are extremely proud of the number of student-athletes that sign National Letters of Intent to play at the collegiate level.

Sports Currently Offered

St. Genevieve offers 14 different varsity sports and 15 lower level teams. Varsity athletics is the highest level of competition at St. Genevieve High School. Lower level teams are considered transitional teams to prepare athletes for the varsity level. Cheerleading and dance are year-round sports that provide school spirit. Currently more than 70% of St. Genevieve students participate in sports.  With a state-of-the-art gymnasium and newly remolded turf field, St. Genevieve continues the pursuit of excellence.

Athletic activities are subject to change. All sports teams have an athletic fee of $85.00 and additional fees may be required for equipment, uniforms, etc. Fees are due at the beginning of each sport season. Spaces are limited and try outs are required for some activities offered. Our athletic teams are members of the Valley Catholic League

Every year one male and one female student is honored for outstanding performance in their sport. Visit our Athletes of the year page for a list of honorees over the years.

Sports Worthy

“Winning is important, but a victory is not always reflected in the numbers on the score-board. We measure winning by the character and integrity of our student athletes. ‘Pursuing victory with honor’ is truly our philosophy.”

— Marlon Archey, Athletic Director

“More than any title or award, we are most proud of the sportsmanship and grit determination that our teams consistently display. That is what will mold their futures.”

— Dan Horn, President/Principal
