Justin Fatica

In 1997, a young man sitting in Saint Peter’s Cathedral in Erie, PA had an experience with God. That day, he asked himself, “What’s so amazing about hurting people and doing what’s wrong? Why do my friends like me better if I use girls and get trashed? Why is it that, if people think someone is hot, that person is praised, and if people don’t, that person is left alone? Why am I, a jerk who picks on people, praised more than I would be if I loved and encouraged those in need?”

That day, the young man decided: THIS HAS TO END! He hoped that, in the future, all people would know that they are loved by God. That young man’s name is Justin Fatica, and this is Justin’s mission: people should know that they are loved.

At 17, Justin did not know what he was going to do with his life, but he believed that God had something big planned for him. Justin decided to take risks in pursuit of his mission. He knew that if he made mistakes he would press forward and try harder until every person he met knew that he was loved by God and appreciated.

In 1997, Justin graduated from Cathedral Prep High School for boys, not with the best grades, but with a big heart. He went to Seton Hall University and graduated with an Elementary Education and Philosophy degree in 2001. He received his Masters in Education in 2003.

Justin has spent the last 10 years ministering to young people as a teacher, high school campus minister, and co-founder/director of the Nationally Acclaimed “Hard as Nails Ministries”. He has helped develop youth movements all around the world, and he has become a true innovator for youth culture. People young and old have discovered that Justin has found a new way to reach young adults in our media-driven society.

Justin’s message of love and care shook up the world in December of 2007 with the HBO documentary “Hard as Nails” directed by David Holbrooke. The movie brought attention from Sirius Radio, Newsweek, ABC Nightline, GQ Magazine, New York Times, Sony Entertainment, Buena Vista and many other media outlets.

Thousands of positive emails came in expressing the need for Jusin’s intense approach to continue. Justin will continue, and he wants everyone to be a part of this important 21st century movement. That is why, in 2008, you will be able to buy the book titled Hard as Nails written by Justin Fatica.

The Doubleday book Hard as Nails is an outreach tool that will help adults to better understand and assist our world’s struggling youth. It will also help youth leaders and young adults grow in their faith, their love, and their admiration for all of God’s people. Hard as Nails is inspired by the love of God and the power of youth ministry.

God has given Justin Fatica an opportunity to share his message with the world. Justin has touched millions of lives and has inspired many people to find out about God’s magnificent love.
