Applying for Financial Aid

Students and their parents should apply for government financial aid during senior year. The following are critical documents that must be completed to apply for this free money:

FAFSA

The window for filing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) is January 1st to March 2nd. This should be completed as early as possible. The FAFSA is completed online. All seniors should apply, regardless of whether or not they think they qualify.

Cash For College offers local, free workshops that offer one-on-one guidance and help to support completion of the FAFSA application.  Find a local workshop here!

Watch “7 Easy Steps to the FAFSA.”

Cal Grant

The counseling office will generate the CAL Grant GPA Verification Form for every senior. Students only have to come by, pick it up, and complete a few portions. The mailing instructions suggest the purchase of a “Certificate of Mailing,” which is greatly encouraged.
